Make Progress Your Obsession

Make Progress Your Obsession

I have spent the last decade working on myself incrementally, every day. As a young person, I was self conscious and insecure in my body.

This is a typical problem for many people. I can appreciate that it's not a simple thing and many people view themselves differently to the rest of the world, but I challenged this in a different way. I made my problems my enemy. If I didn’t work every day to overcome this enemy, I would feel guilty and weak. As if the enemy was at the castle walls and I had allowed them through the front gate. The reason I felt such strong guilt and frustration for this was simply because of the fact that it was a choice. I had to allow that enemy in. The battle is against temptation, distraction and yourself.
My goal was a simple one to achieve. I needed to feel comfortable in my own skin, then I could work on feeling confident in my own skin.
Now, years later, I’m looking for new targets, new goals, new enemies and things to achieve.
My goals are personal to me, as yours should be to you, but the thought process and methods can be the same. Be obsessed with it. Don’t be obsessed with how you’ll feel when you achieve this, or how your life looks once it’s done. Nothing apart from the goal itself. Plan every day. Write this every morning. Think about it before you go to sleep. Don’t let anything dissuade you from this. I want you to feel guilty when you haven’t applied time or bandwidth to your ambition.
This is the highest form of self love and self development. You love yourself so much that you will literally name anything that's holding you back as an enemy.

Find your enemy. Make a plan for progress. Become obsessed with your plan.
