Seize Your Moments

Seize Your Moments

How many reasons are there not to do something? Usually, there are many. When confronted with a challenging or uncomfortable experience, those reasons will run through your mind before you make a decision.

I recently had a conversation with someone who is far more knowledgeable than I am. During this conversation, we discussed methods of expansion, business propositions, promotion, and product development. He told me about a client of his to whom he supplies merchandise. The client hadn’t had much luck with sales and was sitting on a large amount of stock that he couldn’t pay for and couldn’t sell. My friend, the supplier, made him an offer: a large supply of high-quality windbreakers at cost to help pay off his existing debts. The client accepted. Despite his lack of success, my friend said his client had “balls of steel.” He managed to sell off the windbreakers, pay the bill, and place a second order. His self-belief vetoed any pre-existing doubts, and he took the chance offered to him by my friend.

“The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt.

This brief story serves as a small reminder, on this Sunday, to back yourself and not allow fear to dictate your life.

Believe in yourself. When the universe offers you a chance, seize your moment.
