Standards

During 2020, our right to exercise was taken away. The health of our society collapsed and depression rates spiked. No one was immune. As a collective population, we were told when we could exercise, where we could go and for how long. Whether you agree with those decisions, the impacts were undeniable.
Like anyone, I started to gain some weight and once the shock of the severity of the situation had passed, boredom set in. From here, I had 2 choices: Allow my mind, body and soul to stagnate. Or take some control over my situation.
From that day, I began to initiate a strict programme of training.
Firstly, with running. Something I had always been terrible at. I went from being a fat kid who couldn’t run for 2 minutes, to being able to run a 10k in 50 minutes. It’s irrelevant of world records or whether, relatively, this is a fast time. I was better today than I was 1 year ago. My weight training was limited, but I made it work.
Finally, I started a diet, purely to challenge my will. This was a carnivorous diet. No chocolate, carbs, or anything that wasn’t sourced from an animal, for 6 weeks. This is not dietary advice, or even my way of advocating this diet, but it was tough and challenged my resolve. My physique did change for the better and I felt healthier, but this is a by-product of the tenants enforced in my mind. I became obsessed with standards
If I didn't run it bothered me. If I didn't do my exercises, I felt weak. If I went to bed late or overslept, I felt lazy. I was hard on myself, but it worked. These standards have never left me.

“Be more than motivated, be more than driven, become literally obsessed to the point where people think you're f**king nuts.” David Goggins.

Fast forward to today and I can proudly confess that I am 'F**king nuts'. I’m so obsessed with being successful, that I fall asleep with my goals in mind and wake up the same way. I am doing everything I can to achieve those goals. Waking up and writing daily targets, training, eating right and working on being better than last year. What are my goals? To be healthy, successful and fulfilled. 99.9% of the world wants this, but I determine what my success looks like. These individual goals are personal to me and this should be the same for you.
What does this have to do with ONE fitness?
ONE is my brand, these are my personal pledges, my standards and my goals. If you are a part of the ONE community, I want you to understand why you are here. It’s to be your best. To challenge yourself and to support others along the way. It’s not about being the best, it’s about maximising yourself and spending your time in the right way.
Time is all we have, it’s precious. Never let it be said that you wasted what God gave you.
So, I am asking for your support. ONE is here to make a genuine change to Gibraltar. We are unifying our fitness community with knowledgeable voices, who have the expertise to get you where you are already going. Having access to the support of those who have been there before will empower you on your own goals. ONE will always challenge you to succeed.

These are such true sayings everything you spoke about. You can do anything you put your mind to. I believe in the word one meaning.
Believe in one’s self
Believe in one can do it.
Believe in one’s challenges
Believe in one’s goals in life.
Believe in all for one and one for all.
